Amy Quan, O.D., F.A.A.O
Dr. Amy Quan joined Wilmington Family Eye Care after spending fifteen years as the Chief of Optometry and Residency Director at the Perry Point VA Medical Center in Perryville, Maryland.
She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology and obtained her optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry, where she graduated first in her class. Residency training in primary care and ocular disease was completed at the Hudson Valley VA Health Care System in Montrose, New York. Dr. Quan worked as an attending optometrist at VA Hospitals in Elsmere, Delaware and Baltimore, Maryland, before her tenure at the Perry Point VA.
Dr. Quan has lectured on topics related to ocular disease and authored countless journal articles and poster publications. She completed her Fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and Delaware Optometric Association. She has also served as Secretary of the American Public Health Association’s Vision Care Section.
In her spare time, Dr. Quan enjoys tennis, volleyball, and spending time with her husband, Dr. Dan Baruffi, and their two daughters. She and her older daughter also recently published their first illustrated picture book together, inspired by her younger daughter.
